Bankruptcy has lost the 'stigma'

Figures from a new survey into personal bankruptcy, has uncovered that the general opinion is that the financial procedure no longer carries the stigma it once did.

The results are said to reflect changing attitudes toward bankruptcy, after the enterprise act came into effect reducing the amount of time a person is considered 'black listed' financially.

A spokesperson for Equifax commented: "90% of respondents said they feel that bankruptcy simply doesn’t have the social stigma it did 10+ years ago.”
