Bankruptcy no longer carries shame

According to new findings from a leading debt help company, people no longer see filing bankruptcy as the terrible action it once was.

The Debt Counsellors have released figures showing that just over 34% of people who ask for debt help, consider declaring bankruptcy as 'nothing to be ashamed of.'

A spokesperson for the group commented: "While no-one should be ashamed of serious debt, bankruptcy is no easy solution and should be avoided if at all possible as it places assets, including property, at risk."
