Consumers reducing debt with one account

UK consumers are opting to keep all their money with one provider, instead of spreading it out over different banks and building societies, in a bid to reduce debt during the Credit Crunch.

According to Abbey, one in five Britons have consolidated their financial products into one provider ti keep their banking as simple as possible.

Steve Shore from the group said that this isn't a bad idea but warned consumers that they need to ensure they're protected against fraud and identity theft.
